Workshop Dates: 3rd Jul, 2019

Price: $115

Details:

  • Duration: 2.5 hours
  • Inclusions: Snowshoe hire (use subject to snow conditions obviously!)
The Plan:
Meet at the Gallery, at the Dinner Plain roundabout at 3pm. Places are limited and must be prebooked online.
Experience Level:
Open to all
Equipment:
Digital camera (from your phone to a DSLR)
Location:
Dinner Plain (start & finish)

Fitness Level:

Moderate. Walking to find various shoot locations may take up to 30minutes. Not only is it typically 10 degrees cooler in the mountains, the air is also thinner. The walk will involve walking on uneven ground, possibly through rocky terrain, on snow, ice, mud and grass.

Weather:
The weather is a significant aspect of photography in the mountains. It gives us some of the beauty but something we need to contend with as well. In winter the temperature can be well below zero and it typically gets cooler from mid afternoon. We will be active so dress appropriately with lots of layers as well as hats, gloves, hiking boots and waterproof outerlayers.
Winter Sunset: Approximately 5.30pm
What You Need to Bring:
Day pack / Camera bag
Sturdy walking shoes
Waterproof jacket, pants, thermals, layered tops, gloves, hat
